The agreement, announced at SMM in Hamburg last month, follows earlier collaboration for the supply of dredging systems including the joint project in 2000 to equip Belgian contractor Jan De Nul's 33,000m 3capacity Vasco da Gama, the world's largest trailing suction hopper dredger. The two companies also collaborated on Jan De Nul's 10,000m 3capacity tshd Alexander von Humboldt.

STN Atlas Marine Electronic's dredging industry activities are primarily concerned with the provision of purpose designed automated process control systems and associated equipment for drive systems, power supply and distribution, cabling, lighting, communications, alarm management and monitoring.

VOSTA.LMG provides custom built and standard dredgers, component packages, engineering and contracting services. Earlier this year, VOSTA.LMG provided the dredge pump, jet water pumps, draghead and automation software for the 8,500m 3capacity tshd newbuild Samuel De Champlain, built in Spain by IZAR for Dragages-Ports France.
