BMT Acquires Nigel Gee & Associates

British Maritime Technology Ltd has acquired Nigel Gee & Associates Ltd, the Southampton based designers specialising in innovative, high-speed mono and multi-hull vessels. Recent high profile designs include the X-Craft for the US Navy's Office of Naval Research. Nigel Gee has provided the concept as well as preliminary and detailed design. The first vessel is currently under construction.

Nigel Gee's mix of military, commercial and yacht design expertise will enhance the portfolio of services BMT can offer. Roger Swann, Chief Executive of BMT, said, 'I believe this acquisition will strengthen our capability in both the high speed shipping and defence sector. Nigel Gee is an extremely innovative design company and I am confident it will make a significant contribution to BMT.'

Nigel Gee will remain as Managing Director and John Bonafoux as Technical Director.

Roger Swann and Peter French, BMT Operations Director for Europe and the Far East, have joined the Board as a director and Chairman respectively.
