Fugro Buys Thales GeoSolutions

Fugro NV , the leading Dutch survey concern with over 250 offices in 57 countries, has acquired Thales GeoSolutions for a reported ? 147.5m.
A global provider of offshore integrated survey services, Chessington-based Thales GeoSolutions employs around 2,000 specialist personnel with revenues for 2003 forecast to exceed ? 200m.
It operates mainly in the Americas, Europe, Middle East, Africa and the Asian Pacific.
Commenting on the deal, Gert-Jan Kramer, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Fugro, said: 'The complementary nature of Fugro and Thales GeoSolutions' geographical spread and customer base is key to developing these businesses.
Together we form a source of innovation and a long-term supplier to our survey, positioning, and construction support markets.'
