The collision avoidance benefits of AIS will become more financially accessible to the operators of smaller commercial and leisure vessels when Euronav launches its low-cost Ai3000 AIS receiver at the 2004 London International Boat Show . The £799 (Inc VAT) NMEA compatible receiver can be linked to current PC chart plotter systems to graphically display the location and received information of any AIS equipped vessel within VHF range.
