AMOT Controls Temperatures
01 Jan 2003
AMOT Controls have introduced their redesigned and significantly enhanced G Valve, a three-way temperature control valve which will should prove popular for marine diesel installations on vessels such as tugs and dredgers.
The improvements make the valve more compact, with reduced unit weight and installation cost, while boosting performance with a 70% increase in flow capability.
A new enhanced control system comprises a PID process controller incorporating temperature dead band, and remote output alarms as standard. Logic outputs drive 25A solid state relays which have significantly higher performance than standard relays, eliminating arcing thanks to their zero volt switching. A temperature sensor is also included.
The AMOT G Valve provides rapid and accurate regulation of fluid temperatures to 100ºC with a maximum flow rate of 3,000m 3/hr. AMOT claims a high flow rate with low pressure drop compared to other valves of equivalent size used for the same application. The valve's compact size and low height enables greater flexibility in piping arrangements and it can be mounted in any orientation.
Valve ports are configurable to meet applications requirements.
Three types of control system are available: electric, pneumatic or electro-pneumatic. The valves are suitable for both mixing and diverting applications and are typically employed for fluid temperature control in large diesel and gas engines.
