New Metoc-UKHO Data Service Launched

SeaZone , a collaborative venture between the UK Hydrographic Office and Metoc of Liphook, Hampshire, was formally launched at a seminar on marine and coastal geographical information systems attended by 140 delegates in London last month. Designed for GIS users, it provides a packaged data set formatted and ready to use and so simplifies acquisition of essential data needed for projects.

A 15-month study of tidal, fluvial and sedimentary processes and ecological mapping of the Lune estuary and eastern shores of Morecambe Bay has recently been completed by Hydrosurveys of Kenilworth, Warwickshire on behalf of Lancaster City Council .
