MTB BladeRunner Two arrived safely in Southampton last month following a delivery voyage from builders Aveco onTeesside. The existence of this innovative vessel reflects the worldwide growth in demand for energy generated by wind turbines and thus for the wind turbine blades the boat is specifically designed to carry.

Vessel Launch

  • UKD Sealion

When UKD Sealion was delivered to UK Dredging Ltd it had already completed one of the most extensive sea trials likely to be undertaken by this type of vessel. This Damen Multi Cat 2510 was delivered by sea, under its own power, from the Damen Shipyard 's Galatz yard in Romania.

Vessel Repair & Maintenance

  • Mobdock Plugs Gap in Survey Cycle

One of the largest crane vessels in the world was recently in need of its general five year survey, which would normally have to be done in drydock.

  • Machinable Composite Delivers Shaft Bearing Solution

When the failure rate of the shaft line rope guards protecting external shaft bearings on British Royal Navy vessels was running at an unacceptably high rate, BMT Defence Services Ltd was asked to find a solution.

  • Major Refit of Shetland Pilot Launch

An extensive refit of Shetland Islands Council's pilot launch Sullom Shoormal has been completed by VT Halmatic and, following successful sea trials, the craft was returned to service at the end of March.
