Decking to Save the Rainforest

A Dufor 35 yacht has been totally re-decked with Tek-Dek , a recently available alternative to teak laid decking from the Hampshire UK based company of the same name.

The Tek-Dek decking and caulking system provides a hard wearing, low maintenance alternative to teak.

Tek-Dek can be applied to almost any surface including GRP, steel and timber. Its flexible composite structure delivers a surface which remains non-slip even when the deck is running with water.

While almost undistinguishable from its traditional timber forerunner, Tek-Dek features benefits derived from sophisticated science and production technology.

It is fully UV stabilised and, since it is coloured throughout its thickness, will retain its appearance for many years.

The colourfast pigmenting and inbuilt 'graining' looks authentic and each strip includes its own dark 'caulking' edge. Unlike wood, it requires no further oiling, varnishing, sanding or scraping. Cleaning is achieved with proprietary materials and installation itself is also described as a simple process.
