Eason Marine Brings the Buoys to seawork
01 Jun 2003
Eason Marine, whose towering EM3000 Navigation Buoy was a guiding landmark at seawork2002, return for seawork2003 with not one<$>but two other models from their well-proven range. Visitors to Eason Marine’s Stand 71 will see an intermediate 2m diameter EM2000 red<$>port navigation buoy and a 1.25m diameter green model commonly found in rivers and small harbours.
Eason Marine has delivered some 800 examples of the popular EM1250 dating back to 1985. The buoys, manufactured by XJF Plastics Ltd in Whitwell, near Worksop UK, are made from rotationally moulded polyurethane and have been carefully designed using the latest CAD electronics technology. This delivers high performance, long lasting and reliable buoys. Eason Marine has just succeeded in delivering an order for EM1250s and its larger sibling EM1750s in only three weeks for Falmouth Harbour Antigua. The buoys had to be shipped to a demanding schedule in order to be in place for one of the most prestigious yachting events of the year, the Classic Regatta, Antigua. They will float proudly alongside some of the most classic yachts in the world, protecting them from hazards along the regatta course. The Antigua and Barbuda Reef Marking Committee also intends to use more of these buoys to mark reefs.
Eason Marine is currently in the second a year of a complete buoy replacement programme for Tees & Hartlepool Port Authority. In addition to providing its range of lightweight, modular navigation buoys, Eason Marine can supply components to fit existing steel or GRP based buoys, including topmark cans, lanterns, lifting points, solar panels, battery sections, daymarks, and sectioned float collars. Land based pier head lights and/or radar reflectors can also be built to client specification. The company also offers a complete range of spares for all buoys and other applications.
