    Briggs Lands Three Year Scots Submarine Cable Contract

    Briggs Marine Contractors Ltd has been awarded a three year contract to maintain over 100 submarine cable connections for utilities firm Scottish and Southern Energy plc (S&S). 

    Success for 'Kursk' Upgraded Russian Navy Rescue Service

    The Russian Navy Rescue Service have successfully completed a two week operation locating and recovering a Pacific Fleet Ka-27 naval helicopter and its crew that was lost in the Sea of Japan. This was the first operation of its kind to bring together the Russian Navy's new equipment, technology and procedures acquired under the 2002 Navy Search and Rescue Support System Development Programme that was initiated following the Kursk submarine disaster. 

    Surge for Seacore's Site Investigation Service

    Since developing its original drilling capability into a total site investigation service last year, Seacore has completed five separate geotechnical marine site investigation contracts for offshore oil and gas projects in the North Sea. Four of these projects were carried out using the company's own in-house designed C100 drill mounted on the new 96m DP3 class vessel Normand Flower, which was chartered from Solstad Shipping.
