OMGMultibeam Course

The University of New Brunswick's Ocean Mapping Group in Canada is convening a specialist Multibeam surveying course at Southampton Oceanography Centre from 16-21 June. Lecturers include leading multibeam experts from Canada and the US.
At issue will be all theoretical and operational aspects of multibeam surveying including acquisition of acceptable depth data. Specific topics are Review of Underwater Acoustics, Acoustic Seabed Mapping Systems, Multibeam Principles & Calibration Methods, Positioning & Motion Compensation, Survey Planning, Data Structures & Processing, Seabed Acoustic Backscatter & Characterisation, and Visualisation Methods & Quality Control.
Course enrolment is restricted to a maximum of 50 participants.
