CARIS Upgrades HPD Database

CARIS , the Canadian leader in software for marine and hydrographic spatial information production and management, has released Version 2.0 of its widely-used Hydrographic Production Database (HPD).

Built on Oracle?, HPD combines source and product databases in one solution.

The source database provides seamless and non-redundant storage and maintenance of spatial and non-spatial data used for all hydrographic products while the product one delivers storage and maintenance of product definitions, including coverage and cartographic representations as well as historical versions of products. Part of a complete suite of marine and hydrographic software, HPD Version 2.0 also provides for multiple user access, seamless coverage with no chart boundaries or duplicate objects, historical versions and multiple representations. Its introduction offers users improved performance speed and a streamlined user interface, says CARIS.
