Two 60m long vehicle decks, weighing in excess of 300 tons, were positioned by the 1,500 ton capacity floating sheerlegs Matador 3 , operated by Rotterdam's Bonn & Mees.

The fully fitted assemblies were built in and shipped from Holland to be positioned over a three day period by subcontractor Hollandia BV.

Together with a high level passenger walkway, the ramps are hydraulically operated to speed ro-ro operations.

Separate stair tower buildings have been provided for the new Berths 8 & 9, with the 220m long fully fendered pier able to accept vessels up to 27,000 tons.
