Atlas' Southern Expansion Lifts Off

Winch specialist Atlas Winch & Hoist Services continues the expansion of their operations in the Southern UK with a relocation to new premises at Great Dunmow in Essex. The development of hire and sales activities at Atlas Winch & Hoist Services (Southern) Ltd is being led by Anton Lavery, joining his brother Denis who started and continues to operate the Atlas business in Scotland.

With a combined 41 years of experience in the European winching market, the Lavery brothers plan to develop both products and services across their full range of winching and lifting equipment.

The marine and offshore markets remain an Atlas core activity, with a range of deck machinery and rigging gear as well as 4,6 and 8-point mooring systems prominent among their specialist products. The southern expansion will see a drive into new territories such as utilities and construction, with cable pulling products, winches, trailers and rollers all being developed.

Current projects underway at Atlas (Southern) include the rental of 4-point mooring systems to both Volker Steven and Westminster Dredging on the rivers Thames and Medway respectively. A 4-point mooring system has also been rented to the Northern Ireland Office for the dredging of Belfast's River Lagan and other projects have been recently completed in Holland, Spain, Azerbaijan and Nigeria.
