    Voith Offer a New Low Cost Shiphandling Concept

    German propulsion and tractor tug specialists, Voith Schiffstechnik Gmbh (Marine Technology) continue to pursue their share of the market for shiphandling tractor tugs by offering a new low cost solution. This latest solution, offered to operators requiring an agile, vessel with a useful bollard pull, capable of working in the confined areas of docks and harbours, has been dubbed the HIMET (Highly Manoeuvrable Economy Tractor). 

    Sanmar Expand Towage and Tugbuilding Activities

    Sanmar Ltd of Istanbul, Turkey, has reported a very successful 2003 for both aspects of their business - tug operation and the construction of new vessels. Seven new tugs were delivered last year and three others currently under construction will be completed before the end of the first quarter of 2004. Since Sanmar entered that shipbuilding field in 1989, using their own in-house resources, a total of 35 vessels have been completed. 

    Adsteam Takes Delivery of Barunga - the First ASD 2411

    Adsteam Marine Ltd has taken delivery of the first vessel built to the new Damen ASD 2411 design. Named Barunga , the tug was completed in China by Damen's Changde shipyard and is expected to enter service in Australia at the end of this month.
