    New Beacons Go In at Goteborg

    Work is now in progress to mark the edges of fairways into the Swedish Port of Goteborg after they have been broadened, straightened and deepened by a major dredging programme.

    Eason Marine, part of Whitwell UK based XJF Plastics, has developed innovative new service exchange tower (SET) and daymark systems with the aim of reducing maintenance costs and prolonging the working lives of buoys which are often in arduous environments. 

    Contracts Double for VTMS

    VTMS Ltd (Vessel Traffic Management Systems) of Leicester UK have signed two major navigation aids maintenance contracts. For a five year period VTMS will, on behalf of Forth Ports PLC, service and maintain their buoys and beacons in the rivers Forth and Tay. 

    New Light Buoy Shines for Pharos

    Middlesex UK based Pharos Marine has added the new PM-1800 rotationally moulded polyethylene buoy to its comprehensive IALA compliant range. The new buoy is designed to provide a cost effective and lightweight buoy marker for a wide range of applications and conditions. 

    Beacons Mark Abu Dhabi Port Expansion

    Sea Safe Services Ltd of Abu Dhabi has installed two large unitised beacons from Tideland Signal together with aids to navigation buoys and ancillary equipment at the new port of Mussafah, Abu Dhabi.
