Rapid Growth at Bristol Port

A new study commissioned in the UK by the South West Regional Development Agency has assessed the potential for economic growth at Bristol Port over the next 25 years.

It confirms that Bristol is the fastest growing non-ferry port in the country, with cargo throughput doubling over the last decade and traffic rising by 6.3% per year between 1990 and 2002. A lack of expansion land for storage and distribution activities was identified as a main constraint to further growth.
