Seaboat Unveiled at seawork
01 Jun 2004
Liverpool based Marine Specialised Technology (MST) will unveil its new 750 Seaboat RIB at seawork2004 . Designed as a multi-role ships' boat, the craft will be available with an optional single point lifting system and is SOLAS approved as a nine person fast rescue craft.
Developed using MST's CAD engineering suite, the craft adopts many advanced and innovative design features. The first examples of this model have been commissioned for boarding and interception duties by a fisheries protection agency.
MST has always recognised the benefits of working with aluminium for its range of craft, many of which feature aluminium top side fabrications.
Thus a new but small range of inexpensive high speed aluminium workboats will also emerge from the MST factory later this year. Named Aluwork , the new craft are being built to satisfy the significant market sector which does not require the extreme condition sea keeping and technical complexities offered by MST RIBs.
Also being launched this year is a new fibre reinforced plastic workboat, the MST T1100 ultra-fast enforcement boat. This craft is based on a twin stepped monohull design and is available with an optional wheelhouse.
Available with petrol outboard or petrol and diesel inboard propulsion packages, the 11m craft is indeed ultra-fast, capable of speeds up to 95 knots.
MST recently delivered a multiple craft contract to the German Water Police for 5.45m mobile enforcement units.
Powered by 75 hp four stroke Mercury outboards, these small and agile craft are ideal for trailer launching and coastal law enforcement duties.
