Chichester Harbour Conservancy , the statutory harbour authority for Chichester Harbour UK, has in association with the marinas in the harbour initiated a trial into the beneficial disposal of dredged sediments. 

'Oranje' Ready for Boom

Oranje , the second of two new 16,000m³ capacity trailing suction hopper dredgers for Dutch dredging giant Royal Boskalis Westminster , was launched recently at the Merwede Shipyard at Hardinxveld-Giessendam in the Netherlands. The sister ship Prins der Nederlanden was launched in August 2003. 

Dutch Expertise Goes East

Damen Dredging Equipment (formerly De Groot Nijkerk ) has delivered a knock-down package for a Type CZ600 monohull cutter suction dredger to Middle East dredging and reclamation contractor Gulf Cobla LLC . The Khaleej Bay was designed in close cooperation with the owners, who also supervised the building at the Abu Dhabi Shipbuilding Co . 

Dredging Armour Does Dubai

Leicester UK based welding and metal fabrication specialists AceArc have developed heavy duty armour which is protecting cutter suction dredgers engaged in creating the world's largest two man made islands off the coast of Dubai. The Ace700/700S saltwater wearplate manufactured by AceArc isbeing used by the company's Dutch partner Breeman & van Seventer BV to make suction heads and mouths and complete wear liners for dredging equipment.
