    Bathside Bay Inquiry Opens

    On the same day last month that the British Government rejected Associated British Ports ' plans for a new container terminal at Dibden Bay in Southampton, the Public Inquiry got underway into the proposed development of a new greenfield site deepwater container port at Bathside Bay in Harwich. 

    Windfarm Investigation Completed

    A geotechnical survey in the Thames Estuary has been conducted by Fugro Engineering Services (FES) to collect data to be used in the final foundation design for the monopiles at the base of each of 30 turbines which will comprise the Kentish Flats windfarm. 

    Busy Days at Dublin Port

    The largest container ship ever to be handled in an Irish port called at Marine Terminals in Dublin Port last month after the facility had received a 23m make-over. The 2,450 teu MSC Peggy , at 208m LOA and drawing 9m, was comfortably accommodated at Marine Terminals Limited 's(MTL) 570m extended quay, which has an increased minimum depth of up to 10.2m at all states of the tide. The Mersey Docks Group operated terminal has another 130m of berthing space with a minimum depth of 8.5m. 

    Seacore Digs In At Girvan

    Cornwall UK based Seacore has successfully completed the construction of a new wastewater sea outfall pipeline at Girvan, on the exposed west coast of Scotland, about 100km south of Glasgow. 

    France Makes a €2.6 Billion Push for Barges

    A new freight-only canal linking the Seine on the outskirts of Paris to the Dunkirk-Escaut canal in northern France is to be built at a cost of 2.6 billion.

    €450m Box Terminal for Port of Antwerp

    P&O Ports has signed a 40 year concession with Antwerp Port Authority to equip and operate the Deurganckdok east side container terminal in the Port of Antwerp as part of the Antwerp Gateway consortium.
