Maritime Museum is 'Connecting with Schools'

As part of its contribution to SeaBritain 2005 , the National Maritime Museum has created an innovative on-line resource that helps maritime organisations develop high quality, curriculum relevant educational material.

Produced by teachers and experts in informal learning, 'Connecting with Schools' has a searchable database that allows users to quickly identify parts of the curriculum most relevant to their organisation. Alongside is up to date guidance on best practice in producing learning resources and reference sections that summarise and explain the important developments that have taken place in schools in recent years.

Available from the 17th of last month, Connecting with Schools will provide practical support for organisations seeking to meet the needs of Key Stage 1 -5 audiences.

Highlighting the opportunities provided by key curriculum planning documents, such as the new primary learning strategy, it will help anyone involved in the maritime sector to take a fresh look at their educational provision or take the first steps in creating new educational resources.
