Versatile Sturmmowe is More Than Just a Buoy Layer

German authorities have taken delivery of the country's latest 21.3m long multi-purpose buoy layer from Fassmer in Berne/ Motzen after an investment of ? 2.2m.

Sturmmowe is the last of a series of seven such vessels, which are designed for servicing navigation buoys, hydrographic duties, surveillance and hydraulic construction. The variety of tasks being asked of this sophisticated workhorse has demanded good seagoing performance, stability and manoeuvrability as well as an optimal aft working deck which on Sturmmowe boasts a respectable 48m2 of clear space.
