Perkins Sabre Launches Upgraded Specification M92

Perkins Sabre 's new M92B engine is an upgraded, new specification version of their popular M92 .

Based on the new Perkins 1100 Series, the M92B is a naturally aspirated, direct injection, four cylinder, 4.4 litre engine that develops its maximum power at a low stress 2,400 rpm.

Replacing the original M92, the M92B is fully compliant with the European Tier II gaseous and particulate pollutant emission regulations and the US EPA Stage Two regulations. It is also capable of compliance with the EC's Recreational Craft Directive and Central Commission for Navigation on the Rhine Stage One requirements.

Dimensionally, the engine is very similar to the original M92, which will ensure its suitability as a repower option for boats with either an M92 engine or the earlier Perkins M90/4.236, the biggest selling Perkins marine engine ever built.

Standard transmission options are the Hurth HSW 450A, the Newage PRM 500D, or the Borg Warner 72CR gearbox.

The new engine will be suitable or a broad selection of craft, including inland waterway and coastal cruisers, passenger ferries, fishing boats and workboats.
