The voyage beat the previous world record for crossing the Channel in an amphibious craft by a whopping six hours. Gibbs Technologies' Aquada is the world's first amphibious vehicle capable of speeds of over 30mph in water and over 100mph on land.
The heat exchangers which cool the Aquada's 2.5 litre V6 engine are supplied by E.J Bowman (Birmingham) Ltd.
The 80 year old company manufactures both heat exchangers and oil coolers. In addition to those which cool engine and transmission oil, there is a range of Bowman oil coolers suitable for marine hydraulic equipment.
