New Crane Distributor Lifts Off

Italian crane manufacturer Amco Veba took part in seawork for the first time this year, represented in the UK by the new company Idle, managed by Stuart Gilligan.
Two cranes were on display at seawork2004, an 825 25T/M model was on the company's stand while a VR 36 model was installed on board the 14.5m steel multicat Seaboard Constructor which was being shown on the floating pontoon by owner/builder/operator Seaboard Ltd.
Amco Veba sea cranes, the Sealand series, range in capacity from 2 to 80 t/m and have been designed and built to endure all the harsh conditions of the marine environment. Features include double cross chrome plating 60 microns thick on rods and in all cylinders, chemical nickel plating on all pins, stainless steel fittings on all hoses, the entire structure is shot blasted and treated with a zinc base before double coat painting, and there are special basements for static foundations.
