    Sonardyne's Scout to Guide MoD Surveys

    The UK Ministry of Defence has become the first military organisation to commission Sonardyne International 's new Scout underwater tracking system, which calculates the position of beacon-fitted subsea targets by measuring their ranges and bearings from a vessel mounted transceiver using ultra-short baseline positioning (USBL) methods. 

    UKHO-Priar Stavanger Agreement

    The UK Hydrographic Office isto include Primar-Stavanger data within its worldwide Admiralty ECDIS and ENC (Electronic Nautical Chart) services, following an agreement signed between the two organisations at the end of March.

    Simrad , part of the Norwegian Kongsberg Group , has announced a new Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS), the CS68, a fully Wheelmark approved unit based on a dedicated MC50 marine computer and designed for installation aboard SOLAS category vessels. 

    £1.1m Ashtead Oorder for VT TSS

    Signifying what it sees as an upturn in global offshore activity, Ashtead Technology , the Aberdeen-based rental company, has placed an order worth 1.1m with VT TSS ofWatford for four of its latest Marinus attitude and heading reference units together with other proprietary equipment.
