Reformed Marine Team Pools Its Resources
01 Apr 2005
Although too newly formed to exhibit this year, Composite Mouldings Limited (CML) is in relevant territory, having recently manufactured and installed a new swimming pool in Saga's newly acquired cruise ship Saga Ruby . The pool is moulded in glass reinforced plastic, with patterns, moulds and mouldings produced at CML's Marchwood, Southampton factory. The basic structural pool moulding was installed on board by CML staff during the vessel's recent refit in Malta.
On return to Southampton, final fitting out of the new feature was completed by CML last month. This included applying an external cladding of mosaic tiles, fitting teak perimeter planking and gratings as well as installing the plumbing system. All carpentry work was done in-house by CML.
CML also produced and installed new teak threshold gratings in the aft deck area and refurbished two Jacuzzi baths during the refit.
Composite Mouldings Ltd is a relatively new company specialising in the production of large GRP and GRG mouldings for feature and architectural projects. Formed by a nucleus of staff previously employed by Blondecell, this new team has many years experience of high quality marine work, which also includes GRP repairs and the refurbishment of tenders and lifeboats.
