Reliable Monitoring of Onboard Gases

Sheffield UK based International Mining and Marine Limited (IM&M) has further extended its range of specialised safety services for the shipping industry with the addition of the Draeger X-am 3000 and X-am 7000 gas detection systems.

These instruments can be included in the IM&M Meter Tracker, an all encompassing, ongoing maintenance programme that saves time and money, simplifies sensor calibration procedures, and meets maritime legislative requirements. By utilising Draeger sensor exchange technology, these gas detectors also minimise the problems associated with the transportation of dangerous goods.

Both easy to use instruments feature Draeger precalibrated sensor technology for a fast, accurate response to changing gas concentrations and meet ATEX, UL and CSA approvals. With protection against dust and water as standard, the units emit both audible and visual as well as vibration alarms.

The X-am 3000 is a three or four gas warning device and provides reliable monitoring of H2S, CO, O2 and combustible gases and vapours in ambient air. Particularly suited to confined space applications, it utilises simple three button operation, a straightforward menu selection, and a large display for measurement identification.

The X-am 7000 provides continuous detection of up to five gases simultaneously to bring a flexible solution to individual monitoring tasks. Utilising a<$>combination of more than 25 sensors, it enables the detection of over 100 toxic and combustible gases and vapours as well as oxygen. Draeger’s sensor<$>exchange functionality means the X-am 7000 can be reconfigured simply by changing a sensor.

The measuring range and target gas of these sensors can also be changed at the push of a button without needing recalibration.
