Resinex Package for Moses
01 Dec 2005
The Moses Project is meant to protect Venice from sinking.
It comprises 79 barriers, designed to rise from the seabed to block the lagoon from the Adriatic Sea when high tides are forecast. Work continues at the entrance to the Lido which is now signalled with Resinex buoys.
Outside the normal Resinex range, seven shallow water buoys have been delivered which, through special project solutions, provide elevated visibility even in very shallow water (up to 5m).
Of concern to the Moses Project, and more relevant from the point of view of safety, is the installation of an elastic beacon with Racon at the Malamocco entrance of the lagoon. Installation of the complete Resinex beacon/lantern 155/Racon Phalcon 2000 system has resulted in the safest port approach package available to the Harbour Masters.
