Schat-Harding's Manufactures Chinese KISS Lifeboats

Lifeboat and davit supplier Schat-Harding is expanding its Asian manufacturing activities by building its KISS lifeboats in China. The company is also developing a 32 person freefall lifeboat for dry cargo vessels and tankers which will be built at its Umoe Schat-Harding Boatbuilding Co Ltd plant at Qingdao. 

Integrated Ports Training at South Tyneside

The Harwich Integrated Ports Course run by South Tyneside College's School of Maritime Studies and Engineering has become the first of its kind to be approved by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency. The short course uses simulation developed with Harwich Haven Authority, which has responsibility for the UK ports of Felixstowe, Harwich and Ipswich.
