Lift with a Difference Makes Waves at Seawork
01 Jun 2005
Wave Seven Marine returns to Seawork with representations from the seven non-UK companies it represents on this side of the Channel. Joining Wave 7 ontheir stand will be one of those companies, Vermeer -Holland , which is very big in its home market as a manufacturer of piling equipment but also produces a line of marina lifting cranes with a difference.
Such devices are usually made with a long cable wound round a winch but Vermeer-Holland has taken a page from the elevator designer's handbook and placed a hydraulic ram inside the crane arm for a tried and tested lifting mechanism.
This places most of the working parts inside the crane arm and also means that if the top of the crane needs servicing, the entire crane can be lowered to the ground easily.
Vermeer-Holland cranes come in a range of weight capacities.
The Jachtwerf Verduin marina at Akersloot in the Netherlands has recently signed an order for a 12 ton version. This remote controlled model features a 4m flight and a lift of 6.5m with 3600 slewing. Vermeer-Holland currently has 30 and 50 ton cranes on the drawing board.
Wave Seven are also agents for America's Versi-Dredge and have recently sold one to the Yacht Havens Group of Lymington.
The road transportable self propelled cutter suction dredger is driven around the country to various marinas within the Group, where it unfailingly restores the depths required for safe navigation.
In its role as a distributor for Sublift boat lifts, Wave Seven has recently placed a second unit with the former Mitchells Boatyard in Poole, which is now called Parkstone Marina. The 25 ton Sublift joins an earlier 12 ton model.
Visitors to Stand 51 will be able to discuss these products as well as others in the Wave Seven portfolio, which includes marine cranes, boat storage systems, and modular pontoon and boat docking systems.
