Universal Joint Coupling Cures Misalignment Blues

A new rubber in compression coupling and universal joint assembly for power transmission applications where misalignment is likely to occur has been developed by Renold Hi-Tec Couplings .

The new HTBUJ coupling is approved by Lloyds, DNV and ABS for marine propulsion and auxiliary drives.
The new HTBUJ coupling is approved by Lloyds, DNV and ABS for marine propulsion and auxiliary drives.

Based on the proven HTB design, the new HTBUJ coupling is designed to transmit torque between a diesel engine and a driven interface where the two cannot be aligned accurately, where there is a distance between the two, or where one can move radially or axially in relation to the other. The flexible coupling controls torsional vibration and provides damping for the drive train.

Suitable for marine propulsion and other uses, the HTBUJ coupling is intrinsically fail safe and suitable for high torque applications up to 6,000Nm.

It is designed to accept industry standard DIN, SAE and MECHANICS flange designs and is approved by Lloyds, DNV, and ABS for marine propulsion and auxiliary drives.
