Leading Port Authorities Order Atlas Sounders

Atlas Hydrographic in Bremen reports orders for its DESO high-precision vertical echosounders from leading port authorities in France, Germany, Morocco and Poland.

The commissionings include remote-controllable DESO 25 systems for Bremen Ports Authority in Germany and the Port of Szczecin in Poland while in France, further units are to be delivered to the Ports of de La Rochelle and Nantes respectively. Featuring two active sounding channels and two additional recording channels for echo strength and overview recording, the systems can be used for precise determination of sediment and silt conditions depending on type of transducer. Annotation of data can likewise be controlled by almost any navigation sensor or external survey system.

Separately, the Moroccan Port Authority has ordered an all-purpose DESO 300 sounder for general survey operations.

Designed for small boat surveys over depths down to 600m, the system can be switched to fixed frequencies between 210 and 24kHz. In addition to a built-in Differential GPS receiver, it is also available with a wide range of options including 200kHz and 340kHz sidescan transducers.
