Emissions Compliant Engines Launched

A new generation of Perkins Sabre on board gensets is being unveiled at the METS exhibition in Amsterdam this month. Fully compliant with all current and proposed emissions legislation, the Perkins Sabre 4.4GM, 4.4TGM, 4.4TWGM and 4.4TW2GM models have net engine power outputs spanning from 42.7kWm to 106.8kWm.

The whole range of four cylinder, 4.4 litre engines has lower levels of bare engine noise than ever before. Each engine is available in two constant speeds of 1,500rpm and 1,800rpm, with both suitable for operation in ambient temperatures up to 500C and seawater temperatures up to 380C. Each engine allows one sided servicing to reduce service time and cost and all have extended service intervals of 500 hours and a 12 month oil change period.

Also on show at METS this month is the Perkins Sabre M92B propulsion engine which is fully compliant with the European Tier II gaseous and particulate pollutant emission regulations and the US EPA Stage Two regulations.

The engine is also capable of compliance with the EC’s Recreational Craft Directive and Central Commission for Navigation on the Rhine Stage One requirements. The M92B is a naturally aspirated, direct injection, four cylinder, 4.4 litre engine that develops its maximum power at 2,400rpm. It is suitable for a wide range of leisure craft, passenger ferries, fishing boats and workboats.
