Four New RT-60 Rotor Tugs are Sold

Kooren Shipbuilding and Trading BV have announced that the first two of their new RT-60 class 'Rotor Tugs' have now been delivered and a further pair are nearing completion. It has also been revealed that all four have been sold to the new French tug fleet of Societe Nouvelle de Remorquage du Havre (SNRH) under a long term lease-purchase contract. The new fleet is due to commence harbour towage activities in Le Havre on 1 January 2006.

'Morgan Foss', A Powerful New Compact Tug

Foss Maritime of the USA has taken delivery of the powerful new harbour tug Morgan Foss for service in Pacific Coast ports. Yet another example of the growing popularity of 'compact tugs', this highpowered vessel is the result of a unique collaboration between Foss and the Canadian based designer Robert Allan Ltd.

    TOWLINES

Sadly we must report the untimely death of Mr Alan C Bennett, well known tug owner and waterman in the Thames and Medway area. Founder of Alan C Bennett & Sons, he built up a substantial business in the transportation of stone, excavated spoil and other cargoes in the face of a general decline in the lighterage industry.
