    K Damen Complete the First of Three Bugsier Tugs

    Dutch builders Shipyard K Damen Europe BV has delivered the first of three virtually identical tractor tugs to Bugsier Reederei und Bergungs-Gesellschaft mbH & Co KG of Hamburg. 

    The Duke of Normandy Demonstrates Its Versatility

    Jersey Harbours are making very good use of their new shallow draft, multi-purpose tug, the Duke of Normandy , which was displayed at Seawork 2005 . The first of the new generation of Damen Shoalbuster 2609 tugs to be built for a port authority, its versatility has surprised even its operators. 

    'Garibaldo' Visits the UK

    A new Azimuthing Stern Drive (ASD) tug, the 38m Garibaldo , attracted considerable interest when it arrived in Britain in September. Owned by Purplewater Towing Ltd ofSwitzerland, registered in London and built in China, the vessel had just completed a barge tow from Singapore to Newcastle on its delivery voyage.

    Svitzer Marine Ltd has sold two more of their redundant tugs as part of their ongoing fleet replacement programme. 

    Crowley Acquires Titan Maritime LLC

    In early October the Crowley Maritime Corporation , based in Oakland, California, announced that it has acquired Titan Maritime LLC , a worldwide salvage company based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The newly acquired company will be known as Titan and become a wholly owned Crowley subsidiary.
