New Atlas Sounder

Atlas Hydrographic in Bremen has extended its DESO range of survey echosounders with the introduction of a new advanced three channel system featuring a networked Windows interface with associated software.

Atlas Hydrographics new DESO 35 all purpose three channel echosounder is also capable of sub-bottom penetration over depths down to 6,000m.

DESO 35 is available as a compact rack-mounted assembly for ease of installation or one which can be operated direct from a PC. The system provides full size split-screen LCD displays of port and starboard measurements with internal data storage. Alternatively, it can produce hard copy data via a high resolution thermal paper recorder. Both facilities are supplied as flexible modular enclosures complete with swivel-mounting hardware.

All channels provide optimum frequency versatility ranging from 3kHz up to 1 MHz, enabling transceivers to be precisely matched to virtually any transducer. An option for adding a third acoustic channel to a standard dual frequency configuration is also available.

Additionally, very low frequency operation down to 3kHz with a 3kW power output enables enhanced sub-bottom penetration over depths down to 6,000m.

The DESO 35 provides extensive interface flexibility with four serial ports and a high speed Ethernet LAN for optimum levels of data acquisition.

There are also serial interfaces for motion compensators and DGPS receivers. Options such as a remote display unit, a built-in DGPS/beacon receiver and a single or dual-channel sidescan transducer for search and reconnaissance operations are also available.
