New Marina Proposed at Rhyl

A new marina is being proposed at Kinmel Bay at Rhyl in North Wales UK on the site of a well known local landmark, a historic fun-fair.
The scheme being proposed by property developer Modus Properties includes a major new marina, and residential and retail developments.
The project, which has been dubbed Ocean Plaza, is still in its early days, however, and has yet to be submitted for planning permission.
According to Modus Properties, the plan is a mixed use development comprising new restaurants, 200 apartments, a new food store, plus the marina and a pedestrian bridge spanning the River Clwyd.
The company claims work could start in early 2006 and the development could open in late 2007.
