A second generation ECDIS, Navmaster is claimed to be the first system type approved to the latest IHO Colour and Symbol specifications. Existing ECDIS systems must be updated to the new specification by 1 January 2006. AIS target display is in accordance with the presentation standards issued in December 2004. The extensive type approval process went smoothly, with the rigorous performance tests completed in less than a week.

Navmaster features a clear and logical user interface within the familiar MS Windows environment. Uniquely detailed berth to berth route planning allows instructions and notes to be stored whilst enhanced passage plan documentation can be used to conform to ISM and company quality standards. There is software based voyage data recording and playback for vessels not yet required to carry type approved VDR to provide evidence in the event of an incident and automatic transfer of monitored route to back-up.

PC Maritime's ECDIS consists of modular hardware to enable easy retrofit to existing vessels and provides a Remote Diagnostics function to enable rapid and low cost support.
