Dutch dredging giant Royal Boskalis Westminster has boosted its 51% holding in geosynthetics for civil engineering specialist Cofra to full ownership. The acquisition strengthens Boskalis' position in the global market for specialist soil improvement techniques. Cofra has concentrated on methods of soil improvement for the construction of infrastructure projects and the use of liners for the isolation of existing and newly constructed landfills. The expertise will be especially valuable with regard to the large scale land reclamation projects filling the Boskalis order book.
