VTMS Wins Waterford Contract

Leicestershire based Vessel Traffic Management Systems (VTMS) is establishing an Irish base at Waterford Container Terminal in Belview after being awarded a maintenance contract by Port of Waterford.
The contract will run to 2011 and involves the maintenance of 28 floating aids and 17 shore beacons.
Commenting on the agreement, Captain Philip Cowman, harbourmaster, Port of Waterford said: "VTMS have a wealth of relevant international experience in this field and they use cutting-edge marine navigation technologies.
"It is obviously of the utmost importance to Port of Waterford that we take every care to ensure safe shipping in our jurisdiction and this contract will see VTMS provide us with valuable support in this regard."
