'Workcat' Sold 20 Minutes into Seawork

Blyth Workcats made its third appearance at Seawork this year and came away with the sort of success story for which the event has become famous.

The Essex UK based boatbuilders sold a 14m Workcat 20 minutes after Seawork's doors opened and also took a deposit on a 10m version of their versatile catamaran. Blyth Workcats has now sold another two 11m Workcats as a direct result of being at the show and has also had many other good enquiries since. As a result, Blyth Workcats now has excellent projected sales for next year.

The company's 11m Wave Chieftan III (a dive/angling charter vessel from Exmouth) and 10m Carrick Lee (angling charter boat operating out of Newhaven) stole the show and their skippers (Richard Tibbs and Frank Shaw respectively) did Blyth Workcats proud showing the boats off at their best. Everyone who went out on a demo seemed impressed by the size, stability, speed and cost of the boats.

Demonstrating that a presence at Seawork can plant seeds for the future, a 14m Workcat currently in production was eventually sold after the client saw Blyth at Seawork 2004.

It will be used in the Falkland Islands as a dive support and survey vessel.

Such was the success of Seawork 2006 that Blyth Workcats has already booked three boats in for Seawork 2007, including a new 11m 'Cruiser' version which provides all the stability of the workboat, but with the added luxury of full headroom in both hulls, giving a master cabin with en-suite shower, two double/twin cabins, additional heads, spacious galley and comfortable saloon.

New for Autumn of 2006 will be the Blyth 9.9m Fast Planing Cat. Whilst retaining the original and very successful 10m design, Blyth is offering this new model to extend the benefits of their 11m design.

Launched last year, the Blyth 11m's planing hull was designed to give greater buoyancy and outstanding performance in a head sea. Instantly successful, 12 of this model have already been sold.
