    LLPs Boost Partners' Incomes

    Until recently, UK businesses had only two basic choices of structure. They could be limited companies or they could be partnerships. A new hybrid structure, the Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) offers many benefits for businesses owned by their proprietors, as is often the case in the maritime community. 

    'Unsafe Berths and Ports

    As MJ was going to press, LA Marine, the specialist marine law team of Lester Aldridge Solicitors, was giving a presentation at their London office on the theme Unsafe Berths and Ports. The focus was to be on the legal elements of proving an unsafe berth or port claim and taking a practical look at the paperwork required.     Marine Claims Agents Simulate Life at Sea

    London based P&I insurance clubs have broadened their knowledge of claims after attending a five day course in simulation at South Tyneside College. On the course were two representatives from the Britannia Steamship Insurance Association and two members of Thomas Miller & Co's London branch.
