WROV Boosts Underwater Capabilities
01 Jun 2006
Dutch subsea contractor Noordhoek Offshore BV has taken delivery of a light workclass ROV (WROV) to complement its existing fleet of inspection class ROVs. The new Seaeye Panther Plus, which will enable Noordhoek to provide a broader range of services to the market, has gone straight to work on its first project. The Panther Plus is performing continuous 24/7 touch-down monitoring of a cable running between the Netherlands and Norway.
The Panther Plus has been designed for all subsea support services, including survey, inspection, and construction support. Features include two hydraulic manipulators (one with six functions, the other with four functions), a ten thruster configuration for optimum manoeuvrability, a payload capacity of 105kg, a TMS system with 200m excursion option, dedicated launch and recovery system (LARS), multiple channel communication to the surface, a full range of cameras and lighting, standard sensors pack, and operability down to 1,000m MSW.
In addition to the standard layout of the vehicle, Noordhoek can provide all the industry standard sensors and tooling as an option to meet demanding project requirements. Noordhoek, whose range of services includes diving, owns and operates a DP class 2 diving support vessel and is also active as an underwater contractor in coastal, harbour and inland civils works.
