The Lonabrak is a versatile catamaran designed by Seawork exhibitor Macduff Ship Design Ltd and features a large capacity deck.

Macduff Ship Design produced the cutting information on computer which enabled the Shipyard's Profiling Division to progress the steelwork in kit form for assembly at their facilities in Macduff.

The 12.44m LOA vessel has a beam of 6m and a moulded depth of 2.1m. Below deck, from fore to aft, the port hull houses a storeroom with toilet, an engine room and a steering compartment while the starboard hull has a storeroom with shelves and lockers, an engine room, and a steering compartment.

Power is provided by twin Mermaid Mistral diesels each rated 169hp at 2,500rpm driving through PRM1000D4 gearboxes with 4:1 reduction ratio. Engines and gearboxes are fitted on resilient mounts and Halyard wet exhaust systems exit through the transom.

Exalto sterngear with flexible stuffing boxes and flexible couplings drive Exalto handed propellers. Each engine drives a 60amp, 24V alternator and a Jabsco bilge/deckwash pump.

The steering gear by Wills Ridley Ltd handles two rudders and is hydraulically linked.

There is single steering position inside the wheelhouse and another position outside, with engine controls adjacent to both positions.

The wheelhouse is equipped with a Pyro oil filled stove, a microwave oven, stainless steel sink and mess table.

A Palfinger PK 1000 (M)A crane is arranged to starboard aft and a two ton capstan is fitted aft of the wheelhouse to starboard. These are powered from a pump on a clutched PTO on the port side PRM gearbox.

An Aquawash hydraulically powered pressure washer is also fitted.

A comprehensive fit out of wheelhouse equipment includes Furuno 1623 radar, Murena GPS plotter, Icom IC M421 VHF, GME GR200 AM/FM radio, Nokia 6090 mobile phone, Silva LB compass, Vetus electric horn, Exalto pantograph window wiper, plus clock, barometer and inclinometer.
