There were increased shipments for the oil and gas industry in UK waters and further afield as well as growth in various categories of general cargo, with the throughput of animal feedstuffs nearly doubling. The port had trading links with more than 30 countries in Europe, Africa, North and South America, the Middle East and the Far East.
