01 Mar 2006
Dorset UK based Marine & General Services Ltd will be exhibiting a new design 9m multi-purpose aluminium workboat at Seawork 2006 International. The vessel, which is currently under build, is a fully welded monohull designed by a Dutch naval architect.
The boat is being fabricated from 5083 marine grade aluminium plate, 6mm on the hull and 4mm on the superstructure. Power will be supplied by a four cylinder, 240hp Yanmar diesel driving a Mercruiser stern drive for a top speed of approximately 27 knots. Other propulsion packages, including jet drives, are also available. A 500 litre fuel tank capacity will give ample cruising range.
The completed craft on show at Seawork will have a small galley area with sink, stove, fridge and a WC. There is sleeping accommodation for two. Coatings will be supplied by International Paints.
Weighing in at some 3,750kg, the builder intends to class the boat under the RCD and MCA category B, Offshore.
