'Lady Anne' Sold Prior to Completion
01 Nov 2006
Southampton based Smith's Tugs have sold the Lady Anne, a newbuild multi-role dismountable support vessel, to the workboat charter specialists Williams Shipping. Nearing completion at Townsend Welding Services (TWS), the 15m craft is being constructed in-house to Smith's Tug's own Meercatdesign.
The assembled beam of 6m provides the largest platform that can be easily mobilised by road.
The vessel has a deck capacity of 25 tons, internal tanks for 27 tons of potable water and 13,700 litres of fuel. Lloyds Grade A plating was chosen for the build and the experienced TWS marine coded welding staff have built a workboat to a high specification in excess of Lloyds standards.
A pair of Doosan Daewoo L136T1 diesels delivering a total of 460hp provide propulsive power. A 6k VA generator and 14cfm compressor are also fitted. The vessel features two 10m spud legs and an Effer 25t/m hydraulic deck crane.
A simple hull linking system enables rapid assembly and disassembly, requiring no outside assistance other than the lunching crane. The vessel is designed to be operational within an hour of arriving on site.
