Targe Gets Three Awards in a Year
01 Nov 2006
Scottish based tug owner and operator Targe Towing Ltd has recently received another award for their safety record and efficiency. On the 20th of September, Stuart Kerr, delivery manager at the BP Dalmeny Hound Point terminal, presented tug crews from Targe Towing with a memento to acknowledge 1,000,000 man-hours and 12.5 years without a Lost Time Injury.
The award was the third such recognition for Targe in the last 12 months. Earlier in the year the company, which in addition to owning tug fleets on the north east coast Scotland operates two tug fleets on behalf of BP, received a ‘Best in Class’ award for the BP Hound Point tug operation from the Juran Institute of Amsterdam in a bench mark study of international oil terminals. Targe was also awarded BP Shipping's CEO ‘HSE Partner of the Year 2005’, based upon the safety record of the company's UK fleet of 10 tugs.
Tom Woolley, managing director of Targe Towing, told MJ, ‘This excellent record is due to the highly professional attitude and motivation of all our crews to whom we offer our very sincere thanks.’
