Dredging Seminar Success in Bahrain

The International Association of Dredging Companies recently conducted another successful event when the 27th IADC Seminar on Dredging and Reclamation took place in Manama, Bahrain. The IADC has been conducting week long seminars especially developed for professionals in dredging related industries regularly since 1993.
During the intensive week, participants from various countries enjoyed workshops, some of which were conducted on a dredging site, which provided hands on experience. During the site visit, enthusiastic employees of IADC member countries showed participants dredging equipment in action and provided them with better insight into dredging activities.
Another highlight of the week was an IADC sponsored dinner on the beach, where delegates again learned first hand from discussions with dredging company employees.
During other sessions, dredging experts from IADC member countries presented lectures and complemented theory with practical knowledge and experience. Amongst the subjects covered was the development of new ports, maintenance of existing ports, project phasing, project costing, types of dredging projects and types of dredging equipment.
The next IADC seminar will be held in Tampico, Mexico from 26 to 30 March this year. The fee of only €24.50 includes all tuition, seminar proceedings, workshops and a special participants’ dinner but is exclusive of all travel costs. A group accommodation agreement has been made with the host Hotel Camino Real Tampico at a corporate rate.
IADC Seminars are aimed at current and future decision makers and their advisors in governments, port and harbour authorities, offshore companies and other organisations which need to execute dredging projects.
